Improving school leadership and support for teachers

Teachers in the Czech Republic are rare and they have a bad deal. Only a half of the graduates of pedagogy programmes starts teaching at schools. Almost a half from those already teaching is over 50 years old, and half of the teachers is endangered by burnout. More than a half of Czech teachers do not consider their work worthwhile, and they lack passion in what they do.

Improving equal opportunities in education

The Czech Republic belongs among developed countries with the greatest influence of economic, social and cultural family status on the children's educational outcomes. This means, for example, there is a significantly lower chance of graduating from a university for a child if neither of their parents passed the Maturita exam.
